Polo’s Grande Finale – Take A BowSubmitted by admin on August 25, 2009 – 9:39 amAs the Mercedes Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field galloped to its finale, spectators crowded to the rails to see the match where team White Birch emerged victorious after a fierce and pounding hooves and heat battle with an impressive team performance including rising star fifteen year old Santiago Torres who was awarded Most Improved. Inside the VIP tent music and fashion mogul Russell Simmons watched on as well as CBS News reporter Serena Altschul and Real Housewives of New York City Ramona Singer and Bethenny Frankel who has not only found true love it seems but also her own reality show. Is America ready to watch someone being happy? While strolling the sponsor tent for the last time with severe luxury item envy and stroking the leather in the newest Mercedes-Benz convertible and ogling the sexy Riva Yachts, and dreaming of swimming in the seas at the Raffles Canouan Resort in the Grenadines who had a booth there, not to mention continuing to stuff the box of the win a free polo lesson with Nacho Figueras at the Polo Ralph Lauren shop, we were sorry to see it all draw to a close. Maybe, like Blue Star Jets and its Share-A-Jet Exchange other luxury brands could introduce a social networking share program to reduce costs so more could partake. I’ll drive the Benz this week then pass it off to Suzie next week. And I’d be happy to take the Riva Yacht just on Tuesdays. Since the gorgeous Diamond Teak bench was too heavy to try to bop over the fence and sneak out under my skirt, I could have it just for September. But I’m on record if I win Nacho – no way am I sharing. So with a Stoli Pink Pony cocktail, we’ll toast the players and the ponies and the Bridgehampton Polo Club and sponsors for hosting this amazing summer sport. See you in Palm Beach. .
